ABOUT THE BAND:
Passion Pit took their "indie spirit" to play Madison Square Garden on Feb. 8. Despite the blizzard that hit the Northeast that day, they performed to a sold-out show. Headlining New Yorks biggest stage was very special for these college boys from Cambridge, Mass., who attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music (singer Michael Angelakos attended Emerson).
Passion Pit's latest album -- "Gossamer," released last summer -- went to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and the song "Where I Come From" was the lead track on the soundtrack for the teen vampire blockbuster The Twilight Sage -- Breaking Dawn, Part 2.
The group appeared on NBC's Saturday Night Live October 2012. And Rolling Stone magazine, who refers to them as "electro-poppers," said "they kicked things off with the wistful "Take a Walk" (which has been used in TV ads for Taco Bell) and closed out the show with sweet party anthem "Carried Away" (the music video which follows a love/hate relationship between actress Sophia Bush of One Tree Hill and Partners). Both cuts were crowd favorites during Passion Pit's festival run over the summer."
