| Mary Oliver Presented in Partnership with The Palm Beach Poetry Festival A selected reading of poems, Q & A and book signing. She is renowned for her evocative and precise imagery, which brings nature into clear focus, transforming the everyday world into a place of magic and discovery. As poet Stanley Kunitz said, “Mary Oliver’s poetry is fine and deep; it reads like a blessing. Her special gift is to connect us with our sources in the natural world, its beauties and terrors and mysteries and consolations.” Oliver has authored many books of poetry, including her first collection, No Voyage and other Poems (1965); the Pulitzer-prize winning American Primitive (1984) and New and Selected Poems (1992), which won the National Book Award. Over the past two decades she has taught at various colleges and universities – Case Western Reserve, Bucknell, Sweet Briar College, the University of Cincinnati and Bennington College in Vermont.
