Mostly Music: Shostakovich

Dmitri Shostakovich (1905-1975) lived his adult years in the Soviet Union where the state considered propaganda as the highest aspiration of art. How could he function but still create his masterworks? This musical journey will share how he survived to become one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.

Conceived and hosted by Marshall Turkin and staged by Jan McArt.
"Mostly Music" is a unique concert series that better acquaints audiences with not only the music but the lives and artistic development of the Western world's great composers.
